Files

Organize your Library

SummaryStar favorites, sort files into your own categories, find recent and built-in designs, and delete files you no longer need.

Favorites and categories are labels Embroidery Breeze keeps for you in Library. They don't move or copy your files, and a file can carry as many as you like. Browsing folders and opening files are in Library.

The left column

  • Recents, under All, lists the designs and fonts you opened or saved lately, newest first.
  • Favorites lists the files you starred.
  • Built in lists the designs and fonts that come with the app.
  • Your own categories follow, then + New category.

A category shows every file you put in it, from any folder. Machine files show there even when Include machine files is off.

Recents

Each .breeze or .breezefont file you open or save moves to the top of Recents, from any folder. A file whose folder isn't in Library shows only here and in its categories. Its details suggest Add folder if you want the whole folder under All.

To empty the list, choose Project → Recents → Clear recents.

Favorites

  1. Click the star in the corner of a thumbnail. It fills in.
  2. Click Favorites under Categories to see your starred files.
  3. Click the star again to take a file out.

The Favorite button under Categories in the right panel does the same.

Your own categories

  1. Click a thumbnail.
  2. In the right panel, under Categories, click + New category.
  3. Type a name, then click Add. The file goes in the new category.

To put a file in a category you already have, select the file and click that category's button in the right panel. Click it again to take the file out.

+ New category in the left column makes an empty category.

To delete a category, click the trash beside it in the left column, then Delete category. Its files stay in Library and on disk.

Built in

Built in holds the designs and fonts that ship with Embroidery Breeze. They are ordinary copies on this computer: open, change, save, or delete them like your own files. An app update won't overwrite one you changed, and won't bring back one you deleted.

Delete a file

Delete file removes the file from your device, not just from Library. It cannot be undone.

  1. Click a thumbnail.
  2. Click Delete file at the bottom of the right panel.
  3. Check the name and location, then click Delete permanently. Cancel keeps the file.

The file also leaves Recents, Favorites, and your categories. To take a whole folder out of Library without deleting anything, use Remove from library in Library.

On a phone, tap Properties under a thumbnail to reach Categories and Delete file.
