How to use Embroidery Breeze: the hoop, designs, lettering, files, and export.
Prefer watching? How-to videos →Start
- Getting startedClose the Welcome, add a shape to the hoop, save a .breeze file, and export a file for your machine.
- Welcome and HelpThe four ways to start, the examples you can click, and where to find them again.
- Centerline and outlineTwo ways an object can be sewn: along a line, or as the border of an outline you can fill.
- Hoop, fabric, and threadsPick the frame on your machine, the cloth you will sew, and the colors for this design.
- The Objects listThe left list is everything on the hoop, and the order the machine sews it.
Design
- ShapesDrop an oval, polygon, or star on the hoop, then change border, fill, and thread.
- Stitches and fillsWhat each Border stitch and Fill type is for, and which ones to start with.
- Draw and edit nodesDraw a custom path on the hoop, then Edit nodes, curves, and sections.
- Trace a picturePlace a photo on the hoop as a tracing guide, dim it, and draw embroidery on top.
- Select, move, and lockClick an object to select it, then move, rotate, and resize. Lock and Hide do not skip stitches.
- GroupsKeep objects together, move the whole group or one piece, or Combine them into a single path.
- Snap and the gridLine objects up with neighbors, the hoop, and the grid, or turn Snap off to drag freely.
- SatinThree satin jobs: a column along a line, a column on a border, and a fill inside a shape.
- UnderlayLeave Auto on for most work. Underlay sews a holding pass first, under fill and satin.
- AppliquéFill a shape with fabric instead of thread. The machine stops for you to lay and trim the fabric, then covers its edge with satin.
- Stitch order pathChoose where an object starts and ends sewing, when Auto is not the path you want.
- LetteringType a word on the hoop with a digitized font or a bought alphabet, then size, stretch, bend, or move the letters.
- Text on a pathSit a word on a Curve, Line, or drawn path.
- Your fontsThe fonts that come with the app, the Fonts page, and how to find, copy, export, import, or delete a font.
- Digitize a fontTurn a computer font into a reusable embroidery font, then type with it on the hoop.
- Bought letter alphabetsImport a folder of machine letters and type with them on the hoop.
Files
- Save a .breeze fileKeep the editable design, rename it, save it as a new file, and get it back if the app closes.
- LibraryBrowse your .breeze projects, .breezefont fonts, and machine files as thumbnails, then open them or add them to the hoop.
- Organize your LibraryStar favorites, sort files into your own categories, find recent and built-in designs, and delete files you no longer need.
- Import a bought designPlace a PES, DST, JEF, or other machine file on this hoop and recolor it.
- Import SVG and other Breeze filesAdd editable paths from SVG, or objects from another .breeze file, without replacing this hoop.
- Export to a USB stickWrite a machine file you copy to a USB stick, an appliqué cut file, and a real-size print.
- Send wirelesslySend the hoop to a Brother or Baby Lock Wi-Fi machine on the same network.
- SimulatorWatch the needle path, fix sew order, add or skip a trim, and see where the machine stops.
